CONTEXT:
“Small Circle” is a boutique cafe in Lausanne serving drinks, baked goods and brunch. The mission of the space is to create an intuitive experience of connection between visitors and provide an area to spend quality time and build personal bonds.
PROBLEM:
The goal was to create a visual identity and print materials that would carry forward the conceptual direction established by the interior design and reinforce the sense of spatial cohesion. The request called for a modern, meticulously crafted design that could later be easily integrated into a wide variety of products.
SOLUTION:
The graphic system developed corresponds to the stated narrative and explores the theme established by the interior design. The visual identity is built on clean lines, accenting the contemporary non-serif font. The color scheme chosen is monochrome, providing a possibility to concentrate on the letters that carry the main role in this concept.
The logo is simple and clean-looking, it combines regular and italicized text. The letter “c” from the logo is furthermore used in the WC infographics design, which was developed using the deconstructed symbols of the original typeface, in order to completely blend into the space's design ecosystem.
The menu has two realizations: the printed copy and the wall adaptation. The coffee beans' packaging follows the same design principles and was designed in five variations.
